Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself, and it's my desire that our encounter will be helpful to you. I am passionate about helping clients find hope when they are emotionally overwhelmed or feeling stuck. My experience as a nurse for 28 years, caring for clients of diverse ethnicities and backgrounds, and with physical, emotional and spiritual needs, helps me to understand some of the breadth of human experience. As my nursing career unfolded, I became more aware of the impact of emotional health on overall health and well-being. I returned to school and obtained a Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling. As a professional counsellor with training in psychotherapy, I have helped clients with stressful life situations, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, chronic illness, couple and family conflict, and child and adolescent mental health. I use an integrative approach to psychotherapy incorporating interpersonal, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), solution-focused, attachment-based, emotionally-focused, family, and play therapy, depending on the need.

On a personal level, I've been married to the same great guy for 35 years, and we have three daughters and five grandbabies. At the same time, life is complex, with chronic stressors and unforeseen challenges. My own journey through stressful life events, depression, and healing has given me a greater sense of empathy for my clients.

It's my desire to journey with you, to collaborate in developing healthy goals, and to help you to optimize your strengths and resources.
